Nothing better than a Good Friend and a Soccer Game!

The players getting ready to start!

The flags of all the countries participating in soccer

The national anthem with the biggest flag I have ever seen.

They had two skydivers come onto the field to deliver the game ball!

As most of you know the MLS All-Star game was last night in Salt Lake. And you better believe I would be there. There is nothing I love more than a soccer game. There is just something about the sun beating into your eyes, the smell of a mixture of fresh cut grass and the sweat, and looking at 22 hot men run around. I know it sounds weird, but I absolutely love it. And what more can you ask for then watching the best of the best play the game while watching it with a great friend. I definately had a blast. Even though the All-Star team lost, it was still a very intense and exciting game. The game ended in a 1-1 tie so they determined the game in a shoot out. I personally feel like this is the worst way to lose, but it was awesome to watch. I have never seen a perfessional soccer game be determined that way, they usually go into over time until someone scores. For those of you who don't know what a shoot out is, it is where 5 players from each team take turns taking a shot on goal. It is between the player and the goalie. So the first round of 5 started and it ended up being a tie again with 3-3. So then they start another round but this time it is just 1 player goes from one team and then one from the other until one misses. So it started Everett FC went and scored, then all-stars were next and they missed so that ended the game. But I will tell you it is so excited watching a shoot out. I had such a great time and I can't wait for the World Cup qualifier in September!

Who would have thought the Great Basin could be so much fun?

What a fun weekend I just had. So my friends Anne, Erica, and Arilee decided to take a little road trip to the Great Basin in Baker NV. Random I know, all of us were a little weary about, but decided what the heck lets try it out. Good choice on our part, because I think each of us had the best time of our lives! Words can hardly explain our trip. Baker NV is quite the place! Pretty much all I can say is that this trip was PRICELESS! So our story begins here, we started out at the visitors center and the worker there told us that we better start looking for a camp site because they were filling up fast. We were kind of taken by surprise because I think all of us thought we would be the only ones in the Great Basin that weekend, but boy were we wrong. It took us over an hour and a half to find a spot because all four campsites were full, so we ended up staying in a site with no facilities! :( But we had a prime spot all to ourselves!! Once we found the spot we had heard there was cowboys poetery going on and we weren't about to miss out on that. Boy are we glad we went.... IT WAS AWESOME! After it was over we had a chance to meet the famous cowboys and they told us about the parade and booth happening in the morning that we just had to go to! Once we didn't miss out. The Parade in Baker was AWESOME! Nothing can beat a small town parade. ( I mean small town, the whole town consist of 25 people) Sure enough I totally scored a bargin at the booths. This town had the parade and booths for a fundraiser. Because I guess some guy from Vegas wants to take the water rights and ship water from there to Vegas, taking all there water and BAKER IS NOT HAPPY! So hence trying to raise money they did these booths. We I totally scored I got the whole 4 book series of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants for $1.50. Can't be that! Now we are to the part where words can't describe the rest of out trip. Lets just say Baker has one heck of a sense of HUMOR! They had the craziest things on the side of the road that my friends and I spend the rest of the afternoon taking pictures because we knew no one would believe us without proof! We ended our trip with a tour of the Lehman Caves. It was an hour and a half tour through this amazing cave. It was awesome the only way to show you is to see it for yourself, it is pretty amazing. It was definately one of the best trips of my life. I don't think I have laughed that hard in a really long time. There is nothing like spending time with good friends and having a good laugh for 36 hours straight. Gas to Baker $40, Food $18, Tour of Cave $10, seeing the town of Baker PRICELESS!!! So these pictures aren't even close to everything so there will be more pictures to come. The first picture is all of us with our finger friends! The second picture is me enjoying my awesome Ice cream cone. The 3rd picture is called the parachute in the Lehman cave. The 4th picture is one of the many things you see on the side of the road while traveling through Baker, this is a picture of Too Tall Tom. Finally the last picture is the first thing you see when you enter into Baker, and seriously WHOA is the word that comes to mind when you think of Baker.

Viva Las Vegas

What a week! Last week my mom, dad and myself went down toLas Vegas to see my sister and her family. We managed to do a whole lot, but then not alot at the same time. It was a lot of fun to spend time with my family and see all there was to see. The first day we were there we went up to Red Rock canyon. It was pretty, but way to hott to be hiking around. 108 degrees is not my idea of a good time. We also went and saw a free movie with the kids and had our picture taken in front of the Wecome to Las Vegas sign. It was pretty funny to see several brides and grooms having there wedding pictures in front of the sign. Some day maybe I will be able to do that! ;) We went to the Beligo and saw the fountain and the garden it was pretty cool cause they had real birds in the garden. We also went on a tour to the Ethel M's Chocolate Factory. Which anyone who knows me knows that I love chocolate so I pretty much ejoyed myself. We finished off our trip with a lot of swimming and fireworks for the 4th of July. It was a blast hanging out with my sister's beautiful kids, but we did have one mishap. My sister has a coffee table in her front room and the top of it is glass. All week we kept telling the kids to stop climbing on it because we didn't want to have to glass break. Well on the 4th we were getting ready to leave to go see fireworks and I sat on the edge of the table where there is wood to put my nephews shoes on. Yes I was holding my 1 year old nephew. I didn't really thinking I was sitting on the glass, but apparently I have a big but. My 3 year old niece saw me sitting there so she decided to climb up and just like that, my niece, myself, and my nephew went right through the glass. OOPS! It could have been a lot worse than it was. We only had two cuts, one on my nieces back and one on my ankle. Nothing like making you feel like a totally fatty then breaking through a coffee table. Sorry about the coffee table sister! Other than that we had great time in Fabulous Las Vegas.
